TREASURES FROM GODS WORD

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded. (2 Chronicles 15:7)

God had done great things for King Asa and Judah, but yet they were a feeble folk. Their feet were very tottering in the ways of the Lord, and their hearts very hesitating, so that they had to be warned that the Lord would be with them while they were with Him, but that if they forsook Him He would leave them. They were also reminded of the sister kingdom, how ill it fared in its rebellion and how the Lord was gracious to it when repentance was shown. The Lord's design was to confirm them in His way and make them strong in righteousness. So ought it to be with us. God deserves to be served with all the energy of which we are capable.
If the service of God is worth anything, it is worth everything. We shall find our best reward in the Lord's work if we do it with determined diligence. Our labor is not in vain in the Lord, and we know it. Halfhearted work will bring no reward; but when we throw our whole soul into the cause, we shall see prosperity. This text was sent to the author of these notes in a day of terrible storm, and it suggested to him to put on all steam, with the assurance of reaching port in safety with a glorious freight.

DAILY PROMISE

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

Ever blessed are those who put their trust in the strength of the Lord for He will bear them up. Labouring under the curse and by the sweat of his brow, man toils under a fell weight-and to his futility. Therefore, this promise of rest is a sure comfort to be felt by all of God's children. God, in His grace and beneficence, will bring all His people into an eternal Sabbath rest. No more, forever, need we worry that our work would be toilsome or labourious. His yoke is made easy and His burden made light-and so it is out of this rest that the child of the King will work joyfully for the welfare of the Kingdom. Praise the Lord for His ever-abounding goodness and mercy upon the saved!

 GODS PLAN OF SALVATION

There is only one way to heaven

Jesus said: "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." (john 14:6) http://blb.sc/002vj3

Good works cannot save you.

"for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." (ephesians 2:8-9)  http://blb.sc/002uzq

trust jesus christ today! here's what you must do:

  1. confess to God that you are a sinner, in need of a Savior.

"for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (romans 3:23)   http://blb.sc/002t3j

"wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (romans 5:12) http://blb.sc/002uqg

"if we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

 (1 john 1:10)  http://blb.sc/002nzl

2         Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead

"for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (john 3:16) http://blb.sc/002kil

"but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (romans 5:8) http://blb.sc/002uqg

"that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (romans 10:9)  http://blb.sc/002o5e

Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal saviour.

"for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (romans 10:10)  http://blb.sc/002o5e

3     Turn from sin and repent

Jesus said: "i tell you, nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

(luke 13:5)  http://blb.sc/002q2q

"and the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (acts 17:30) http://blb.sc/002sm0

"for whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved."

 (romans 10:13)   http://blb.sc/002o5e

"but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (john 1:12)  http://blb.sc/002njc

"therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 corinthians 5:17)  http://blb.sc/002n2s

if you have received jesus christ as your saviour, as a christian you should:

  1. Read your bible every day to get to know Christ better.

"study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 timothy 2:15)  http://blb.sc/002s3b

"thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (psalms 119:105)  http://blb.sc/002y1g

  1. Talk to God in prayer every day.

"and all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

" (matthew 21:22)  http://blb.sc/002bwg

"be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (philippians 4:6)  http://blb.sc/002vby

  1. Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other christians in a church where Christ is preached and the bible is the final authority.

"go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" (matthew 28:19)  http://blb.sc/002mxr

"not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
  (hebrews 10:25)  http://blb.sc/002pal

"all scripture is given by inspiration of god, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 timothy 3:16)  http://blb.sc/002rwu

  1. Tell others about Christ.

"and he said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (mark 16:15)  http://blb.sc/0036hz

"for though i preach the gospel, i have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if i preach not the gospel!" (1 corinthians 9:16)  http://blb.sc/002v2c

"for i am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the jew first, and also to the greek." (romans 1:16)  http://blb.sc/002stl
