11/2/2013 The coming of a Savior

The love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ stands alone as the most important event creation has ever known. The Bible tells us that long before the world began, God had planned that the crucifixion of Jesus would be the method and payment for sin – the only payment that would reconcile sinners to a holy and loving God.

[1Pe 1:19-20 KJV] 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

all through history, God provided us a written  proof. He foretold various signs and wonders through His prophets. These prophets spoke of things that man should watch for so that the Messiah would be recognized and believed. These prophecies were given to us in the Old Testament. Its writings were completed in 450 B.C. The Old Testament, written hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth, contains over 300 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled through His life, death and resurrection.

Mathematically speaking, the odds of anyone fulfilling this amount of prophecy are staggering. Mathematicians put it this way:

1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000

1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power

1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: Only Jesus!

It is the magnificent detail of these prophecies that mark the Bible as the inspired Word of God. Only God could foreknow and accomplish all that was written about the Christ. This historical accuracy and reliability sets the Bible apart from any other book or record.

The New Testament was written after the death of Jesus Christ. Archeologists have found thousands of manuscripts of the New Testament. Some of these pieces of manuscript are dated less than 100 years after the original letters were written. In terms of historical reliability, the Bible is superior to any other ancient writings.

This is the miraculous and reliable record of the Word of God. God gave us these prophecies to build our faith and point the way to His Son. As 1 John 1:1-3 states:

[1Jo 1:1-3 KJV] 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ

As we proceed,we will examine many  prophecies concerning the life and death, and yes, and more importantly, the "RESURRECTION" of our Jesus Christ. We will also study many other prophecies, culminating in the end times foretold by so many of Gods prophets. We pray that your faith will be increased and your resolve strengthened as you understand the scriptures and grow in the knowledge and assurance of the love of God as manifested by His Son, Jesus Christ who is indeed the Lamb of God, slain before the foundation of the world. (See Revelation 13:8.) And that,“He takes away not only our sins but the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2).

10/13/2013 The captivities

The Rebirth of Israel in 1948

Ezekiel’s prophecy of the rebirth of Israel in 1948 and its precise fulfillment in our generation on May 15, 1948 is one of the greatest fulfillments of Bible prophecy in history. while he was a slave during the Babylonian Captivity, (606 – 536 BC), the Lord revealed to the prophet Ezekiel, the exact year ,1948, when Israel would  be restored to the Promised Land. Israels eternal relationship to the Holy Land is a major theme of Bible prophecy  and the times were

specified in exact detail regarding the duration of the time when the Jews were to be exiled and when God will allow them to return to the Holy Land.

The First Captivity – (Egyptian) – 430 years

The Lord told Abraham  when Israel would return from Egypt. A

Captivity that lasted 430 years.(Genesis 15:13; Exodus 12:40-41).

The Second Captivity (Babylonian) – 70 years

Secondly, 70 years in Babylon, as prophesied by Jeremiah 25:11,

ended exactly 536 BC when the Jews returned to Jerusalem as decreed by the Persian king Cyrus.

The Third Captivity (Worldwide) – 2520 years

The Scriptures contain numerous prophecies about the final return of the Jewish exiles to their Promised Land in the "last days." Ezekiel was taken to Babylon as a captive. Ezekiel was aware of Jeremiah’s prophecy (Jeremiah 25:11) that the Jew’s captivity in Babylon would last seventy years. However, Ezekiel received another prophecy concerning God’s judgment upon the Jew’s disobedience and

the precise duration of the remaining Jewish exile from their Promised Land.

"This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year" (Ezekiel 4:3-6).

As Ezekiel lay on his right side for a few hours for 390 days and then for 40 days on his right side the Jews in Babylon learned of God’s remarkable prophecy. God revealed that every day stood for one year. Therefore, Israel would be punished for a period of 390 years plus an additional 40 years as a result of their disobedience to God’s commands, totaling 430 years. God declared that Israel would be punished by a worldwide exile for 430 years (390 + 40 years = 430 years).

However, as prophesied by Jeremiah, the seventy year long Babylonian

Captivity, which began with Nebuchadnezzar’s capture of Jerusalem in 606 B.C., ended in the spring of 536 B.C., in the month Nisan (March/April), when only a small remnant of the Jews (42,360) returned to Jerusalem (Ezra 1:1-3) under the decree of Cyrus the Great. Out of God’s total decreed future punishment of 430 years for Israel's and Judah's sins (390 years plus 40 years = 430 years). First, we must deduct the 70 years of the Babylonian captivity, which Ezekiel and the Jewish exiles were already enduring, which ended in the spring of 536 B.C. Therefore: (430 years minus the 70 years in Babylon = 360 years). This indicates that a further period of 360 years of additional exile remained for the Jews following the end of the Babylonian Captivity in 536 B.C.

Ezekiel’s Prophecy of the End of Israel’s Exile

A careful study of the history of Israel cannot reveal any significant event that

corresponds to this period of 360 years of additional punishment, either at the end of the 430 years or at the end of the 360 years beginning from the end of the Babylonian Captivity in 536 BC. The majority of the Jews never returned from Babylon to Israel. Most of the Jewish exiles failed to repent of their spiritual rebellion against God and they chose to remain in pagan Babylon. Ezekiel’s prophecy revealed the duration of the Jewish exile and the actual time of their prophesied return to the Promised Land in May 15, 1948.

The solution to this prophetic mystery was found in a divine principle revealed to Moses and recorded in Leviticus 26. In this chapter the Lord established definite promises and punishments for Israel based on Israel’s subsequent obedience or disobedience to His Divine commands. In four separate passages recorded in Leviticus 26, God warned Israel that: if, after being punished for her sins, she still failed to repent of her rebellion, the punishments previously declared by God would be multiplied seven times more (the number of

divine completion).

Moses declared God’s principle of judgment if the Jews would not repent from their sinful rebellion against God after already experiencing His punishment: "And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins" (Leviticus 26:18; 26:21, 23-24, 27- 28).

In other words, if Israel did not repent of her sins after enduring God’s initial prophesied punishment; the punishments previously predicted would now be prolonged or multiplied seven times: The biblical record reveals that, tragically, even the 5 percent of the Jewish exiles who returned to Israel did not truly repent of their rebellion.     Therefore, according to the Divine principle of multiplying the previous Divinely declared punishment by seven times due to the Jew’s lack of repentance, God’s previously prophesied exile of 360 additional years to the unrepentant Jewish exiles, as recorded by Ezekiel, would now be multiplied seven times more (Ezekiel 4:4-6; Lev. 26:18). 360 years of Exile x 7 = 2,520 biblical years of additional Exile for the Jews

The Babylonian captivity ended in the spring of 536 B.C.E., 1st Nisan. This date is the starting point for our calculations. The period of worldwide captivity would last 2,520 biblical years times 360 days = 907,200 days. Converting this figure into our calendar
year we divide the 907,200 days by 365.25 to reach a total of 2,483.8 calendar years. (Remember that there is only one year between 1 B.C.E. and 1 C.E.; there was no Year Zero). The end of Israel's worldwide captivity would occur after a total of 2,483.8
years had elapsed from the end of the Babylonian Captivity in the
spring of 536 B.C.E.
The end of Babylonian Captivity: Spring 536 B.C.E. plus the duration of
Worldwide Captivity: 2,483.8 Calendar Years = When the Worldwide Captivity would end: Spring 1948.
The Rebirth of Israel: May 14th 1948
On May 14, 1948, the Jewish people proclaimed the independence of Israel and the end of their worldwide captivity at the precise time prophesied by the prophet Ezekiel. On this very day a united Israel took its place as a sovereign, independent state among the nations.

9/21/2013 A hired razor..

It was and is Gods plan, from the beginning to call out a people for his name. He even went so far as to call Israel His "wife".

Jer 3:14 KJV - Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

God promised Israel all the blessings of life, all the good things, if only she would honour him and turn from her wicked ways, but she would not.

Jer 3:6 KJV - The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
Jer 3:7 KJV - And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
Jer 3:8 KJV - And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
Jer 3:9 KJV - And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

Because of their disobedience, God told them he would shave with a hired razor; meaning he would use an outside source, a sinful nation, to punish them for their iniquitys, because of her adultery and backsliding.

Isa 7:17 KJV - The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
Isa 7:18 KJV - And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
Isa 7:19 KJV - And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
Isa 7:20 KJV - In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
Isa 7:23 KJV - And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
Isa 7:24 KJV - With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
Isa 7:25 KJV - And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.

Israel's spiritual adultery broke Gods heart. He had taken them through the Egyptian bondage, separated and delivered them, called them his wife and almost as soon as they were safely on the other side of the red sea, they began to murmur and complain and as soon as the opportunity presented it's self, they committed spiritual adultery with a strange God, " A golden calf".

God began to punish them for their sins and all the while begging them to be true and faithful and obedient. Their many imprisonments and captivities were the result of their whoredoms with pagan Gods and their disobedience. As we progress through the scriptures we will see the unfolding of Gods promises and his plans and wrath for the end times, as well as his wonderful plan for a redemptive sacrifice for the people "who were not a people' .

9/9/2013 The Sabbaths

God told the children of Israel that they were to keep the Sabbaths for themselves and also for the land. Failure to do so would cause God to take them out of the land, and be put into bondage so that, then the land could enjoy her Sabbaths.

[Exd 23:10-12 KJV] 10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: 11 But the seventh [year] thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, [and] with thy oliveyard. 12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.

God informed them that as long as the land was desolate, (without them as inhabitants) the land would enjoy her Sabbaths.

[Lev 25:2, 4 KJV] 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD. ... 4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
[2Ch 36:21 KJV] 21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: [for] as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

[Lev 26:34-35 KJV] 34 Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye [be] in your enemies' land; [even] then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths. 35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.

    A very good example of this is when Daniel and his people were taken into captivity, into Babylon;

Dan 9:2 KJV] 2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.[Jer 25:11 KJV] 11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, [and] an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
[2Ch 36:21 KJV] 21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: [for] as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

Many times God punished the children of Israel for their disobedience. next segment we will investigate the other reasons why God punished them, and his promise to them for the end times because of it.

9/2/2013 If....

    God told the children of Israel, after they had been in Bondage and after they were set free that, If they were faithful and served Him only and obeyed him and loved him, that he would bless them, he would protect and guide them and never leave them;

[Deu 12:1-3 KJV] 1 These [are] the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.

2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:

3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

[Deu 12:1-3, 28 KJV] 1 These [are] the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.

Deu 28:1-6 KJV] 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe [and] to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

3 Blessed [shalt] thou [be] in the city, and blessed [shalt] thou [be] in the field.

4 Blessed [shall be] the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

5 Blessed [shall be] thy basket and thy store.

6 Blessed [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest in, and blessed [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest out.

  Israel, however invariably proved to be rebellious and stiff necked;

[Deu 9:6-8 KJV] 6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou [art] a stiffnecked people.

7 Remember, [and] forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.

8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.

The Children of Israel proved time and time again that they were rebellious. The Flood was brought upon the earth even before the Egyptian bondage of Israel because of the sins of their fore fathers;

[Jos 24:2, 14-15 KJV] 2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, [even] Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods. ...

14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Many terrible trials, captivities and pain await the children of Israel because of their disobedience. Next segment, we will see the reasons for their many wars and the beginning captivities of the tribes of Israel.

8/25/2013 The Promise

GOD Told Abraham;...Gen 12:1 KJV ....Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Gen 12:2 KJV - And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Gen 12:3 KJV - And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed....

and God kept his promise, and making the same promise to Abrahams  offspring and heirs...such as Jacob...blessing the seed of Abraham as he promised.......Gen 28:14 KJV - And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Gen 28:15 KJV - And, behold, I [am] with thee, and will keep thee in all [places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done [that] which I have spoken to thee of
....God continued the blessings as he promised all the seed of Abraham..... Deu 1:10 KJV - The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye [are] this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.    Deu 10:22 KJV - Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

God reminded the early church in the book of Hebrews of his kept promise, ...    Hbr 11:12 KJV - Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable...BUT...Israel has some rebellion in her heart, Israel, even though they are Gods chosen people, must pay for their disobedience....because God cannot lie and His will be done.

In the next studies, we will begin to see Gods love for Israel, for his chosen people, the apple of his eye...and his promise to them for good and his promise to them if they do evil and how the future of Israel unfolds, all foretold by the prophets.

8/17/2013 Bruised

Hello, and welcome to our study of Bible prophecy. We are just beginning this study and have many avenues to explore. There are many facets of prophecy in Gods Holy Word. All of them are deep, exciting and very nourishing to the hungry Christian. There are the prophecy's concerning the coming of The Lord Jesus Christ, those concerning his teachings, his life, his death and the ultimate sacrifice of his life, albeit only for three days and nights.

There are prophecies concerning the nation of Israel, the antichrist, and the end times and events which must usher in those events. There are many signs and wonders, foretold by The Holy Spirit through the mouths and pens of the prophets themselves, so join us weekly as we attempt to follow scripture and its teachings and feed on the rich food of the word of God.

In the book of Genesis, we see the promise of God to the devil, in the garden of Eden. God places a curse upon the serpent in  Gen. 3:14,  above all cattle and above every beast and he loses the ability to walk and must crawl upon his belly forever after. Even when the curse is lifted from the earth, for mans sake, the serpent will still be cursed, to eat dust forever, because of his lies to Eve and his deceit.

Isaiah, 65:25 KJV - The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

Then we see in verse 15, how God proclaims enmity between the seed of the woman and the seed of the devil. In this verse we see the reference to Jesus, how satan will bruise the heel of the son of man, but then we see how the head of satan will be bruised.

The first part of this prophecy concerning the crucifixion of Jesus has taken place, but the final bruising of the head of satan is still future, as we will see in our studies. Gen 3:15 KJV - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Scripture will bear out these prophetic scriptures as we will see.

Next time we will begin to delve deeper into scripture, and we will see how events unfold in very clear revelations.

May God Bless You
